Summary of proposed works:
Temporary removal of 4 pews from the back of the church (2 on each side).
Description of proposed works:
We propose removing 4 pews from the back of the church (2 on each side) and leveling the area to create a more versatile and inclusive space. This will allow us to:
Accommodate our growing congregation: Our Hymns and Tea services are increasingly popular, and we need more space to welcome everyone.
Provide a safe and convenient buggy park: This will encourage more parents with young children to attend church services, especially during school services.
Improve accessibility for wheelchair users: By creating more space in the main body of the church, we can better accommodate those with mobility challenges.
Enhance our community engagement: A larger, more flexible space will allow us to host more community events, such as Hymns and Tea, the village yard sale, and Christmas Tree festivals.
We have already successfully engaged with the village and parish council and are eager to build on these relationships. By removing the pews, we can create a more welcoming environment for everyone.
We aim to complete this project before the Christmas services and are working with a local tradesman to ensure a smooth and efficient process. Additionally, we plan to replace the existing carpet in the back of the church with a similar style.
We believe this TMRO application will significantly benefit our church community and the wider community.
