The PCC met on May 19th and approved several initiatives across our mission and ministry. Planning is underway for the Community Christmas Tree Festival, which the PCC supports running from December 5th to December 13th, 2026, with the Carol Service closing the festival on the final day. To strengthen community bonds, a trial "donation-based" coffee morning (without fixed charges or raffles) has been scheduled for July 4th. Additionally, a group will meet on June 2nd to discuss how we encourage more congregational singing. We are also looking forward to supporting the school's 150th anniversary service on June 20th, which will be led by Bishop Graham Kings. The PCC has agreed to provide up to £150 for the anniversary afternoon tea and donate £500 toward the school’s new sensory room.
In terms of stewardship, the church is currently 96% compliant with safeguarding requirements, and the PCC confirmed its commitment to promoting a "Safer Church". We are also progressing toward consolidated record-keeping using the Parish Hub. Financially, Ministry share payments are up to date.
On the Buildings and Fabric front, architect recruitment is underway, and two faculties are in process for the permanent removal of pews at the front and back of the church. Minor repairs to bell ropes and stays have also been approved and will be funded by the Bell Fund.
