Advent Resources
We have collated together a number of resources that might be useful over advent.
Crimplesham Bells
There will be a visiting band of bell ringers at Crimplesham this Sunday - 12th. February. The Eucharist service begins at 9.30 am and the bells will ring from 9 to 9.30 am.
The National Bell Tower Registry says that Crimplesham has a ring of 5 bells (full-circle ring) and that the tenor bell (the heaviest and number 5) weighs 706lb, or 320kg, is in note “B”, has a diameter of 32.25” and is dated 1798. The bells were last overhauled by John Taylor & Co. in 1838, and all this information was last up-dated in 2009.
How could you not wish to hear this joyous sound! Come along on Sunday morning and join Rev Richard Fordham and the Crimplesham community, and possibly some Ouse Valley Benefice members as well.
Ryston Hall Snow Drop Walk
Ryston Hall are hosting their annual snowdrop walk on Sunday 12th February from 11am - 4pm. Admission is £5 and the money raised is to go towards St Michael's Church, Ryston. Dogs on a lead are welcome!
Meet Our Vicar
The Revd Nigel Moat has recently joined us after being inducted by Bishop Dagmar, Bishop of Huntingdon, in July. He joins us from the West Norfolk Priory Group where he served as Curate. Nigel and his wife Heidi have grown to love West Norfolk and are really excited to serve here in the Ouse Valley Benefice.
Prior to being ordained, Nigel worked in the electronics and software industry, but followed his calling to ordination - he trained initially in the Diocese of Lincoln, and then in the Diocese of Ely following his marriage to Heidi.
Before undergoing any work in our churches or churchyards, we need to check to see if a faculty is required.
The following information on the Diocese of Ely website will be useful in checking the need for a faculty...
